_{Barleyleap lifted her head proudly as she heard her name called amongst all the others. She had done it. She was finally a warrior! It seemed like it was only yesterday that she joined the clan, but look at her now!
As the crowd of cats slowly began to clear, Barleyleap turned and saw exactly who she wanted to see; her best friend Sorrelpaw- no, Sorrelfox. She grinned and padded towards him, her eyes bright with excitement.
A small pang hit her as she saw Willowpool wind herself around him, but she pushed it away. That was in the past; she needed to get past it. Trying to distract herself, she ran and jumped on Sorrelfox's tail, just like she used to do as an apprentice. "Isn't this great, Sorrelfox? We're finally warriors!" She mewed happily, looking up at her friend, "And you've got an apprentice already too! How lucky."
Sorrelfox chuckled. "It took forever for it to happen, but yes, we're here!" His tail flicked between Barleyleap's legs as he turned his head to give Willowpool's head a quick lick. She purred and rested her head on his shoulder, grinning at Barleyleap. "Congratulations to all of us!" She added cheerfully.
"Congratulations to you all, indeed." A voice said. A dark tom padded over from behind Sorrelfox, making his way over to Barleyleap. "Good for you."
Barleyleap smiled at him. "And I'm sure you'll be here with us soon, Eaglepaw." Eaglepaw shrugged and turned his sharp amber eyes to Sorrelfox, narrowing them slightly.
"C'mon, Barleyleap, let's go somewhere else." He growled, speaking to her but keeping his eyes locked on Sorrelfox. The newly named tom frowned slightly, his green eyes meeting Eaglepaw's gaze equally. Barleyleap's ears flopped backwards, her eyes darting between the toms.
"Uhm.... Okay." She mewed, slowly backing off of her friend's tail. Eaglepaw nodded to her and shot Sorrelfox one last look before padding away, motioning for Barleyleap to follow. The she-cat watched him go and gave Sorrelfox an apologetic look before following.
"Bye guys! See you later!" Willowpool chirped. Sorrelfox said nothing, keeping his eyes on Eaglepaw's dark pelt as he walked away, taking Barleyleap with him.
