Breezepaw's eyes blinked open slowly, weak sunlight flittering through the entrance to his den. Another Dark Dream had come to him... the same shadowy cat trying to corner him. In desperation, the little tom had willed himself to wake up, just... wake up! And, to his surprise... he had. Of course, it could have just been natural, but.... It was an interesting thought anyway.
He stood in his nest, nestled into the furthest corner of the den, and stretched. He still felt incredibly drowsy, as he often felt upon waking from night where he dreamed. It was almost like he hadn't even gone to sleep at all. Normally when he woke up from a dream, he would try to go back to sleep. But judging from the amount of light outside, Breezepaw judged that it was far too late to go back to sleep now. So, with a small amount of reluctance, he yawned and padded out into the sunshine.

Cats were all over the camp; warriors were leaving for and returning from patrols, their apprentices tripping along behind them. A few queens lay in small patches of sunlight coming through the treetops, their kits running about around them, laughing and playing. Well... most of them anyway. Even Patchstar and Dave were out, lounging together in the grass underneath the Moss Rock. It seemed as though everyone was at peace for once.
Then, from behind the medicine cat's den, there came a quiet thumping noise and a weak cry of pain. Breezepaw immediately whipped around, wanting to see who it came from and if they needed any help. But there was nobody in sight.

Curious, the medicine cat padded around the back of the great rock that was his den, sniffing around for anyone hiding in the darkness. There was a faint scent of blood in the air and another scent that Breezepaw didn't recognize. He advanced slowly and, lo and behold, a small kit lay on the ground a few fox-lengths away, looking as if he had just fallen out of a tree.
Breezepaw hurried over to the kit, beginning to inspect him as soon as he reached his small, golden form. The kit was unconscious covered in scratches, some of them beginning to bleed. After a little look around the area, Breezepaw figured that he had fallen through the thorny undergrowth of a small hill before them. From what he could tell, there was nobody else around. So, taking great care not to touch any of the kit's scratches, he gingerly picked him up by the scruff and began to carry him back to his den.

It didn't take too long for Breezepaw to lay the kit down in a nest and call Patchstar over. He explained that he had found the kit just beyond the walls of the camp and that he couldn't see anyone else around. Patchstar replied saying that she would send a patrol out to go and search the area for any other cats who may have lost their kit.
"Do you know his name?" She asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the kit as he slept. Breezepaw shook his head, and Patchstar frowned slightly. "We need something to call him for when he wakes up." She mewed, looking down at the golden-furred tom, as if thinking of a name for him. Breezepaw looked down at him as well, trying to come up with something. It was then that he noticed the small brown and golden moth snagged in the kit's claws.

"How about Mothkit?" He suggested softly. Patchstar nodded in agreement and left Breezepaw to do his work, calling out to a few cats as she exited the den, telling them to form a patrol. Breezepaw turned back to the newly-named Mothkit and tilting his head to the side. Where had this kit come from? Did he have a family? Or had he been left behind, like he himself had many moons ago?
Pushing the thoughts to the side, the medicine cat padded over to the herb store to collect a few things. Those questions could be answered later, when Mothkit was awake. For now, he had work to do.

This is just a little piece I thought of in response to Mothkit's arrival, since I figured Breezepaw might have been the cat to find him~
I hope it's okay that I did this ;u;

This takes place between the time Mothkit falls unconscious and wakes up again, in case it wasn't obvious.
